Bobbi Kristina Brown, the only child and sole heir of the late pop star Whitney Houston, told Oprah Winfrey that she is "doing as good as [she] possibly can at this point" in a pre-taped interview for the host's show Oprah's Next Chapter, which ran last night.

"I can sing her music, but to hear it now, I can't," says Brown. "I can hear her voice telling me, 'Keep moving, baby. I got you.' She's always with me. I can always feel her with me. She used to always say, 'Do you need me?' And I said, 'I always need you.'"

Clearly distraught, Brown told Winfrey that she intends to pursue a career in singing just like her mother. "I have to carry on the legacy," she said. "We're gonna do the singing thing. Some acting, some dancing."

Brown also spoke of how her perspective on her mother shifted after her death last month. "I just saw her as Mom," she explained. "The first time I saw her as a worldwide icon was when we went on tour. And the funeral . . . She made an impact not only on a few people. She made an impact on the world."
