Eels Fight Back Against Child Bullies in 'New Alphabet' – Premiere

Eels Fight Back Against Child Bullies in 'New Alphabet' – PremiereSong is from band's upcoming album 'Wonderful, Glorious' $(document).ready(function() { $('.socialActionsTop .pageActions .email-content').hover( function() { $('.socialActionsTop .bubble.email').show(); }, function() { $('.socialActionsTop .bubble.email').hide(); } ); $('.socialActionsTop .pageActions .print-page').hover( function() { $('.socialActionsTop .bubble.print').show(); }, function() { $('.socialActionsTop .bubble.print').hide(); } ); });

California indie-rockers Eels will release their new album Wonderful, Glorious, on February 5th onVagrant Records and E-Works. Now the band has a hilarious video for album cut "New Alphabet," which picks up where previous video "Peach Blossom" left off.

The video finds frontman Mark Oliver Everett waking up with his mysterious, tambourine-playing crush nowhere in site – and it's all downhill from there. The second Everett leaves his apartment, a baseball bat wielding kid chases him down the hall, while outside more youths harass him – one even ambushes him with a bow and arrow (he's saved when an unseen samaritan throws a snake on the kid).

"Adult male abuse is a widespread but little acknowledged problem in today's society," Everett joked about the video's theme. "Many grown men are victims of children's senseless bullying. I have made the brave choice to speak up as a victim of these pint-sized terrorists. I am so tired of children picking on me. It is my hope that this video will serve as the first step in opening a dialogue between victims and community leaders that will one day lead to the end of this awful abuse."

Aerosmith's Steven Tyler and Joe Perry on 'Legendary Child' - Track-by-Track Premiere

RollingStone.com will be premiering Aerosmith's Music From Another Dimension! album, one track at a time, in the weeks leading up to the November 6th release.

The first sign that Aerosmith were back as a creative force and writing new material came during this year's American Idol finale in May, where singer Steven Tyler signed off as a judge by joining the band to perform "Legendary Child," their first new song in eight years. With the big rock guitars of Joe Perry and Brad Whitford behind him, Tyler barked and wailed just like the old days, and even quoted from 1975's "Walk This Way," remembering when "I took a chance at a high school dance . . . " The lyrics go on to describe the life since, and "That same show/ 40 years ago /is being televised tonight."

The song was officially released in July as the first single from Music From Another Dimension!, accompanied by a high-concept music video of a girl carrying a coffin-shaped package being chased on roller skates. Aerosmith have been playing it on the road ever since. But "Legendary Child" has another, more profound meaning for the band – completing it was the first sign that their reunion in the studio was finally going to work out this time.

"Joe put the lead lick down. It was, 'Oh my God, we're back,'" Tyler says now. "It was so incredibly true at that moment to me that the band was back in the severest of ways. I was overjoyed."

100 Greatest Artists of All Time: Aerosmith

Aerosmith tried repeatedly to reconvene over the last several years, but were derailed every time by tension, breakups, tour-ending injuries, American Idol and more. Things already looked a lot different by last summer as the band began creating songs with producer Jack Douglas. Basic tracks were recorded, and soon the veteran rock act was invited to submit a song for the soundtrack to the upcoming action film G.I. Joe: Retaliation, starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Bruce Willis.

The instrumental track for "Legendary Child" was submitted, though Perry insists a song is never really a song until vocals and all other parts are finished: "Until then they're just riffs." The filmmakers liked what they heard but needed to hear Tyler's vocals before committing. It was just the push the singer needed.

"So that weekend, Steven said, 'I gotta throw down,'" Perry recalls. "He went in and really sharpened the pencils and laid down a vocal. That was the first complete song. It had the vocals, the lyrics, the band track. That was the point where it was like, 'We got one.' We know we can do it now."

Former Frank Zappa bassist Roy Estrada has been sentenced to 25 years behind bars for molesting a child younger than 14 over an extended period of time. Estrada, 68, abused a female family member after he was released from a California prison for a felony offense of committing a lewd act with a child.

"The victim's family was unaware that he was a convicted sex offender," Melody McDonald, spokeswoman for the Tarrant County, Texas district attorney's office, told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. "Estrada was sentenced to 25 years in a plea bargain agreement and is not eligible for parole. He will be 93 years old before he is released from prison."

Ex-Cake Drummer Charged with Child Molestation

pete mcneal cake

Former Cake drummer Peter McNeal has been hit with child molestation charges by Los Angeles police. McNeal was busted in L.A. last month and released on $250,000 bail. On Friday, the drummer appeared in court to hear a single felony count against him for oral copulation and sexual penetration of a child under the age of 10.

McNeal, 45, is suspected by the Los Angeles Police Department of previous incidents with other victims, and they are urging the public to help locate other children who may have been sexually assaulted by the musician. McNeal was previously arrested in 2009 on a separate charge of attempted molestation of a young girl, but the status of that case is not clear.

McNeal served as a member of Cake from 2001 to 2004 and has since worked as a session player, appearing on records by Norah Jones and Mike Doughty.

"I was devastated to hear of the arrest," Doughty told Fox News. "There is nothing in my experience of Pete that indicates he's a monster. But someone accused of child molestation usually gets labeled as a monster permanently, regardless of what a jury decides."

McNeal will be arraigned on February 10th, with pretrial and trial dates to be set afterward.
