First Photos of Blue Ivy Carter Released

Jay-Z and Beyonce release the first photos of Blue Ivy Carter.Jay-Z and Beyonce release the first photos of Blue Ivy Carter.

We thought the news of the weekend would be Adele's predicted Grammy dominance or Brian Wilson moving like Jagger – but tonight the bundle of joy that is Blue Ivy Carter hit the internet. Beyonce and Jay-Z posted five photographs of their new baby girl on tumblr, answering many questions, including which of her parent's hairstyles she would inherit.

The post includes a hand-written note that says "We welcome you to share in our joy. Thank you for respecting our privacy during this beautiful time in our lives. – The Carter Family." We wouldn't be surprised, however, if one of these adorable photos ends up blown up to the size of an IMAX screen on the stage of the Staples Center this Sunday.

Leslie Carter Autopsy Inconclusive

Leslie Carter and Aaron Carter

An initial autopsy report on the death of Leslie Carter, the sister of singers Aaron Carter and former Backstreet Boy Nick Carter, was inconclusive, the Chautauqua County Coroner's Office announced today. The 25-year-old mother and occasional singer was found dead yesterday in her home in upstate New York, where she reportedly moved from Canada recently to live with family members while sturggling with a prescription drug dependency.

Coroner Richard Mackowiak said the results of a toxicology report are pending and that it is the family's decision whether to make the results public.

Leslie Carter recorded an unreleased album for DreamWorks in 1999, at the height of Backstreet mania. Her song "Like Wow!" appeared on the Shrek soundtrack. She was perhaps best known, however, for appearing on the E! network reality show House of Carters, which ran in 2006.

The world got a bit more glamorous this week with the birth of Blue Ivy Carter, the sure-to-be fabulous daughter of Beyoncé and Jay-Z. The happy occasion was marred somewhat when another hospital patient claimed that the superstar couple’s security stopped him from seeing his own newborns, but Jay-Z was still on Cloud Nine, as evidenced by "Glory," the tender song he recorded in honor of his new daughter that included her first cries.
