'Dark Knight' Shooting Victim Rips Dave Mustaine for Obama Comments

A Colorado woman wounded in a movie theater shooting rampage that killed 12 on July 20th has criticized Megedeth singer Dave Mustaine for comments suggesting that President Obama had orchestrated the attack in pursuit of an anti-gun agenda, TMZ reports. "Some people think the president is a good scapegoat but he didn't shoot me," said Carli Richards, who was shot multiple times at a midnight screening of The Dark Knight Rises in Aurora, Colorado. She was one of 58 people injured by alleged shooter James Holmes.

Mustaine suggested August 7th at a concert in Singapore that as part of Obama's effort to "pass a gun ban," the president was "staging all these murders" in Aurora and in an attack that left six dead at a Sikh temple near Milwaukee August 5th. Mustaine expanded on his comments yesterday in an interview with InfoWars.com, which has put forth conspiracy theories on both attacks. "There's some questions here, I just think that we deserve to know the truth – that's it," the singer said. He latter added, "I'm a patriot, I love our country, I've always been controversial, I'm a political songwriter and this wasn't done to hurt any of my fellow countrymen – I think that it's something we really really need to look into."

Said Richards, "It's obviously kind of absurd and people who make up conspiracies just want attention."

Ohio Man Arrested With Backpack Full of Weapons at 'Dark Knight Rises' Screening

scott smith

An Ohio man was arrested Saturday night after he brought a loaded handgun, ammunition and knives into a showing of The Dark Knight Rises at a movie theater in Westlake, Fox 8 in Cleveland reports

Scott Smith, 37, of nearby North Ridgeville, was charged with six counts of violating Ohio's concealed-carry gun laws, said Westlake police Lt. Ray Arcuri. A manager and security guard at the theater noticed Smith acting oddly and asked to see what was inside the backpack he was carrying.

Inside the bag, the security guard, an off-duty Westlake cop, found a 9-millimeter handgun, two additional ammunition magazines and three knives. The officer found a fourth knife when he frisked Smith.

After the police obtained a search warrant, Arcuri says, authorities found numerous weapons at Smith's home. Police also seized his car and cellphone, which Arcuri said contained hundreds of pictures of guns.

Smith could could face additional charges, Arcuri said.

This incident comes several weeks after a gunman killed 12 at an Aurora, Colorado, movie theater at the midnight premiere of The Dark Knight Rises.

Death Row Records co-founder Marion "Suge" Knight was jailed in Las Vegas yesterday on three outstanding traffic warrants and suspicion of marijuana possession. Knight was busted after being pulled over for a driving infraction near the Vegas Strip.

Knight's warrants included one for driving on a suspended out-of-state license. When cops searched his vehicle, they discovered less than an ounce of marijuana, a misdemeanor offense. He was released on $2,600 bail after a few hours behind bars.

These charges pale in comparison to Knight's previous legal issues, which include drug and assault charges after being accused of punching and pulling a knife on his girlfriend outside of a Las Vegas strip club in 2008 and suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon for another incident in Los Angeles in 2010.
