Robin Williams Eyes Return to TV on New David E. Kelley Sitcom

Robin Williams is eyeing a return to TV with a half-hour sitcom from The Practice and Ally McBeal creator David E. Kelley, according to The Hollywood Reporter. CBS is reportedly interested in the show, which is set in the advertising industry. Kelley wrote and will produce the still unnamed single-camera series for 20th TV, and Bill D'Elia is set as executive producer. The show is Kelley's first half-hour sitcom since Doogie Howser, M.D.

The show would mark Williams' first starring sitcom role since Mork and Mindy 30 years ago, though he has recently guest starred on Louie and Wilfred. Michael J. Fox also resurrected his small-screen career earlier this month when NBC picked up his new show, which is also yet to be titled.

Robin Gibb Has More Surgery for Liver Cancer

Founding Bee Gees member Robin Gibb recently had further surgery for his ongoing bout with liver cancer, Reuters reports. The surgery led the 62 year-old singer to cancel all commitments prior to the April 10th premiere of his classical work "The Titanic Requiem."

Last November Gibb revealed his struggle with liver cancer, acknowledging that he was rushed to the hospital for treatment. While he was apparently recovering well from chemotherapy treatment, it appears the cancer has returned.

"The Titanic Requiem" finds Gibb ranging far from the disco grooves of the Bee Gees. The singer wrote the piece with his son Robin-John and will premiere it on April 10th at London's Central Hall, Westminster. "Requiem" recognizes the 100th anniversary of the ship's infamous sinking on April 15th, 1912.

Robin Thicke Busted for Pot Possession

R&B star Robin Thicke was arrested in Manhattan earlier today for marijuana possession. The singer was busted just after noon by officers who caught him smoking a joint while sitting in a Cadillac Escalade near Gramercy Park. "He wasn't driving," an officer told the New York Daily News. "He was arrested and a small amount of marijuana was recovered on him."

Though Thicke was sitting in the car with another passenger, he was the only one arrested and charged with possession. The Daily News' sources say that the singer was cooperative throughout the arrest, and even signed autographs for the officers.

Robin Gibb, one of the two surviving members of the Bee Gees, has told BBC's Radio 2 that he is making a "spectacular" recovery from chemotherapy for liver cancer. "The prognosis is that it's almost gone and I feel fantastic and really from now on it's just what they could describe as a 'mopping-up' operation," he said in an interview on Friday. "I am very active and my sense of well-being is good."

The singer, who has become rather gaunt in recent years, remarked about becoming more open about his sickness after many rumors made the rounds about his health. "The fact is, I've never spoken to anybody about my condition or the condition that I was in, and a lot of them go over the top, to the point where they're telling me things that I didn't even know about myself," he said.

Gibb revealed that he was being treated for liver cancer in November. Robin's twin brother and bandmate, Maurice, died in 2003 at the age of 53 of complications from a twisted small intestine, reported in his autopsy as a congenital condition. Robin received surgery for a similar blockage last year. He canceled a series of concert dates in Brazil earlier this year after being hospitalized again for abdominal pain.
