REUTERS /CARLO ALLEGRI /LANDOVCourtney Love has moved into a new condo in the Nolita section of Manhattan after being evicted from a West Village townhouse for altering the apartment's decor.
According to Love, she did not require a credit check in securing the new place, but her landlords did ask for a character reference. She gave them several, but they chose a testimonial penned by U2 frontman Bono. "He wrote me a paragraph," she told the New York Daily News.
Though Love has tweeted that she "likes this pad better," she has had a noise complaint since moving to Nolita. Shortly after moving in, the singer was playing back some recordings in the early morning when a pregnant neighbor complained about the loud music. "I’ve never gotten a noise complaint. It sounds really lame, being a rock star and all," Love told the Daily News, adding that "it’s all good now. I didn’t know! I don’t do noise complaints."
