John Mayer Teases New Song on Tumblr

The wait is nearly over for John Mayer fans. Today the singer-songwriter released a snippet of a new single, "Shadow Days," on his official Tumblr page.

"I'm excited to share the first bit of sound from the album," Mayer posted. "Been looking forward to a post like this since October 14, 2010, the first day I started writing this group of songs. Enjoy."

If the contemplative, optimistic "Shadow Days" is any indication, Mayer's upcoming album, Born and Raised, will be a happy one. He's certainly earned a turn for the better: though the album was originally scheduled for an October 2011 release, it was delayed when Mayer was diagnosed with granuloma and forced to undergo extensive throat surgery.
