Michael Stipe to Judge Animated GIF Festival

Michael Stipe announced on R.E.M.'s website that he will serve as a judge for the GIF festival Moving the Still. The festival is described as "the first large-scale, open call event of its kind for original GIF art" and will be curated by Paddle8 and hosted by Tumblr. Submissions are open and will be published through November 7th, with a live exhibition to be showcased during Miami Art Week 2012 (December 4th-9th).
