The xx traveled the Japan this summer and while they were there, the band took some time in a Tokyo hotel room to shoot this intimate rendition of new track "Angels." Romy Madley-Croft flies solo with a Les Paul, her vulnerable vocals deftly drifting over her slight guitar picking. Bandmates Oliver Sim and Jamie xx look on, seemingly entranced by the way her hushed vocals contrast with the impersonal loneliness of the room and the backdrop of the city.
"Angels" is on the xx's upcoming album, Coexist, which is due September 11th.
