'Book of Mormon' Cast Extend Contracts Into 2013

The cast of 'The Book of Mormon' during the curtain call on opening night on Broadway at Eugene O'Neill Theatre in New York City.

The principal cast of Trey Parker and Matt Stone's Tony-winning hit musical The Book of Mormon have extended their contracts to appear in the show through February 2013. Returning cast members include Josh Gad, Nikki M. James, Andrew Rannells, Rory O'Malley, Michael Potts, Lewis Cleale and Brian Tyree Henry.

This new deal may create some complications for Rannells, who has signed on to star in a new NBC series about a gay couple and their surrogate mother, which is being developed by Glee and American Horror Story creator Ryan Murphy. "The producers said they would release the location of where they are holding my family if I resigned. I love my family and want to see them returned safely. So here I am," Rannells joked in a statement regarding the contract extension.
